Swatch Book

I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel strongly that others should be aware of my experience so they don’t waste time and money the way I did.

I initially reached out to this company to inquire about both manufacturing services and sustainable fabric options. Before purchasing anything, I made it clear that I was interested in fabric + manufacturing. They confirmed via email that they could assist with this after i purchased the swatch book, and their website also clearly advertises manufacturing services.

Based on those confirmations, I decided to move forward and purchase their fabric swatch book. Between the swatches and shipping, I invested around $100.

Once the swatches arrived and I confirmed interest in moving forward, I was suddenly told that they cannot offer manufacturing services, and can only supply fabric. They then claimed that their private label and internal manufacturing conflicts prevent them from working on my projects — information that was never disclosed upfront, despite my very clear initial inquiries.

Trying to remain open-minded, I asked if they could at least connect me with manufacturers they work with who could use their fabrics. They asked me to re-explain my needs (which I had already detailed previously), appeared willing to help, and then stopped responding entirely. After following up more than a week later, I discovered that my email had been blocked.

At this point, I’ve received:

No manufacturing support

No referral or follow-through

No refund

No communication

This experience felt misleading at best and unethical at worst. If this company is too busy, has internal conflicts, or only wants to work on their own private label, that should be clearly disclosed before selling expensive swatch books to prospective clients.

I’m disappointed, frustrated, and feel that my good faith was taken advantage of. I would strongly caution other small businesses and designers to proceed carefully — or look elsewhere entirely.

The swatches are great. I am very inspired by the different fibers and textures.

Wide variety of fabric samples. Most are organic, eco-friendly, or handloom. I will soon use for my new project.
I was disappointed though in the cost of mailing internationally. It was as much as the samples.

Though I am unable to if the prices are reasonable, I am definitely happy about knowing that Suvetah creates materials that have low impact on nature, use recycled fibres to create new ones, give a decent explanation of fabric composition and answer all queries of the customer. The swatch book is really helpful as it helps feel, see the material before placing the order.
