Project Katran
Turning Waste Fabric Into Meaningful Value
A large amount of textile waste generated during production is still discarded or ends up in landfills.
Project Katran is Suvetah’s step towards doing things differently.
It brings together existing textile pieces and repurposes them into thoughtfully designed, everyday products - extending the life of materials that still have value while reducing the need for something new.
But Project Katran is not only about materials. It is also about the people who make this transformation possible. Every product carries their skill, time and craftsmanship, with 10% of Project Katran’s sales going back to the workers who bring these pieces to life.
Why Project Katran?
Because There Is More Life in What Already Exists
Textile production inevitably leaves behind pieces of fabric that may no longer have a place in their original form, but still hold plenty of potential.
Instead of letting these materials become part of the landfill cycle, Project Katran gives them another direction.
Through upcycling, thoughtful design and skilled craftsmanship, we transform existing textiles into useful products made for everyday life.
Less discarding. More creating.
A Step Towards Circularity
Keep Materials Moving. Keep Their Stories Going.
Circularity is about moving away from the idea of make, use and discard.
Project Katran explores what happens when existing textiles are given another application instead.
By repurposing production textiles into products that can be used and valued again, we aim to keep materials in circulation for longer and take a meaningful step towards a more circular textile system.
Create more thoughtfully. Use what already exists. Keep it moving.
Made by Hands
Every Piece Has People Behind It
Katran may begin with fabric, but it comes to life through people.
Behind every product are skilled workers who bring their experience, patience and craftsmanship to the process. For them, Katran is also an opportunity to apply their skills to something new and create an additional source of income.
Because a truly sustainable approach should consider both materials and people, 10% of Katran’s sales goes back to the workers involved in creating these products.
More Than a Product
Small Pieces. A Bigger Purpose.
A laptop sleeve. A coaster. An everyday accessory.
Each may be a small product, but each represents a larger shift in the way we think about textiles.
Project Katran is about looking at what already exists, finding new possibilities within it, and creating something that can be useful all over again.
Because sometimes, giving something a second life is where a new story begins.
