Catechu: Catechu dyeing powder is an extract from the heartwood of acacia trees.
The catechu powder is an extract prepared from soaking the wood of the Acacia catechu tree in hot water until a syrupy liquid immerges; further, this is dried and then ground into powder.
The powder has been used for long history to acquire various shades of brown.
The catechu extract contains tannin as well as dyeing properties.
Shade: Shades of brown
Dyeing: Use indigo extract at approximately 40 to 80% to the weight of the fabric.
For rich colour use more percentage, as the results may vary as per percentage used of dyeing extract and the fabric composition.
